What a Gutter Installation Includes
A gutter is a drainage system, not a strip of metal along the roof edge. Get the sizing or the fall wrong and it will overflow in the first decent downpour no matter how straight it looks. We size the gutter and the downpipes to the roof area feeding them, set the fall properly, and seal every joint and stop end.

How the Job Runs

Site measure & quote
We measure the roof, work out the catchment feeding each run, and check where the water currently goes. You get profile, colour, downpipe count and price in writing.
Order & schedule
Material is ordered to length wherever the run allows it, which means fewer joins and fewer places to leak later. We confirm a date once it lands.
Install
Brackets set, gutter run and levelled to fall, corners and stop ends sealed, outlets cut, downpipes fitted and secured to the wall.
Test & hand over
We put water through the run and watch where it goes. Any pooling or slow drainage is corrected before we pack up, and photos come through afterwards.
What It Costs
Guttering is quoted per job rather than off a price list, because two houses of the same size can be very different work. What moves the number:
- Total lineal metres of gutter and how many separate runs there are
- Gutter profile. Quad, square line, half round and fascia gutter all differ
- Single or double storey, and whether the roof edge is safely reachable by ladder
- How many downpipes the roof area actually requires, not how many are there now
- Where the downpipes discharge. Existing stormwater, new soakwells or a tank
- Condition of the fascia behind the gutter, which is not always visible up front
We quote in writing with the scope spelled out. If something genuinely unforeseen turns up once the old gutter is off, rotten fascia timber being the usual one, we stop, photograph it and price it with you before going any further. Nobody likes a surprise invoice and we do not hand them out.
Why the Install Matters More Than the Gutter
Most gutter failures are not material failures. They are installation failures that took a few years to show themselves.
Fall and pooling
Gutter set dead level holds water permanently. That water sits against the seams, breeds mosquitoes and corrodes the base from the inside out. Fall is the single most important thing in the job.
Undersized downpipes
Perth storms arrive fast and heavy. A roof with too few downpipes for its area will overflow over the front edge no matter how clean the gutter is. Sizing is a calculation, not a guess.
Bracket spacing
Brackets set too far apart let the gutter sag between them once it fills with water. Once it sags it holds water, and once it holds water it starts to go.

A straightforward single storey house is usually a day. Larger homes, double storey work, or jobs where the fascia needs attention first can run to two or three. We give you the expected duration with the quote rather than leaving you guessing.

On a replacement we take it away and dispose of it. Old guttering is scrap metal rather than landfill, and it goes to a recycler.
We connect to the existing stormwater or soakwell system where one is present and actually flowing. If the underground drainage itself needs work, that is a separate scope and we will say so rather than connecting to something that cannot cope.
